Public Transportation
This was the first time using the D.C. metro for all of us. We had some trouble at first adding money to our metro cards and finding our way around. This forced us to talk to strangers who were more experienced and knowledgeable. They helped us with what lines to take and which stops to get off on. Without the help of these strangers, we likely would have ended up at the wrong stop. |
A Taste of a Different Culture
China town is a very interesting part of D.C.; it feels as if you are experiencing a little bit of China itself. The signs are in Chinese first making it feel very foreign. A bit of confusion combined with the exotic Chinese architecture contrasting with the typical D.C. buildings create an atmosphere outmatched only by China itself. We decided we should try one of the many Chinese restaurants within Chinatown as it offered an exotic menu within an area that should know the most about Chinese food. |
'Tech' of the Past
A reminder of how innovation is not suggested but a requirement to be successful in todays business world. We observed that not a single person used or was intrigued by these stand alone newspaper machines. We envisioned a digital renovation with an Eco friendly alternative. Perhaps have a digital billboard that advertised the daily download of todays edition of the paper, it would not only cut costs while providing a more interactive advertisement, but also remove their contribution to destruction of trees. |
